I think balsa wood is the coolest wood. It's so light, and you can carve things out of it. People say not to carve large things out of balsa wood, like tables, as they wouldn't be sturdy, but have you ever tried to carry an ebony wood or cherry wood table any kind of distance? It would be much too heavy to carry! Unlike a balsa wood table!!

Whilst lightness of carriage is certainly a useful quality in a table, is it the *most* important quality? I will leave that for others to judge. One thing I will grant you, though, is that balsa wood makes an excellent lolly stick.
